Campus parking rates blow through yearly limitation cap

When Ohio State chose to privatize its parking lots and CampusParc took over the vast expanses of asphalt, the company promised not to raise prices of parking by more than 5.5 percent yearly. Faculty though could pay 50 percent higher than their permit cost last year. How they got around it? They created a new parking permit (even though it is exactly the same as a permit offered last year for a lower price), according to the Dispatch. Better yet, the university is totally cool with the new permit. Most of the other permits that allow students and faculty to park on campus rose by the allotted 5.5 percent.
