For the lifetime of many residents, the Olympic Swim Club in Clintonville was a staple. For 76-years it stood. Children flocked there during the summer for the 5-meter diving platform, teens rubbed on tanning oil (and skin cancer) and adults found sanctuary from busy work schedules. It didn’t seem like a possibility it would ever close. Sept. 1, though it will. With funds declining, the pool simply cannot support itself anymore, and the family owned operation was sold to another cousin in the family. Plans for what will replace the pool haven’t been announced.
