Pedestrian killed in accident in parking lot

UPDATE: Police have been investigating just what exactly happened Tuesday morning to cause a pedestrian’s death in west Columbus. According to authorities a red pickup truck was driving down Mound Street when a black Tahoe driving in the opposite direction hit the truck. The Tahoe then hit a pedestrian and then drove through a fence and hit several parked cars, according to police. A witness told NBC4 that a woman got out of the black Tahoe and asked him for a phone, and he told her to shut off her engine and she then fled on foot, allegedly telling him to turn off the engine. Police were able to get the woman and have taken her in to be questioned, but no arrests have been made, the station reported. It has yet to be determined which driver had the right of way during the incident.

A man was killed in an accident in a parking lot on West Mound Street around 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. The man was struck be a car and 10TV reported fires were involved in the crash. Police have said that a pickup truck got into an accident on the road, and that accident led the cars into the parking lot where three other cars were also hit as well as the pedestrian. The station reported the driver of the truck then attempted to leave the scene but was caught by police a few blocks away.
