BrewDog Won’t Stop Announcing Things: Now Building a Hotel

This is silly. Come on — really? A hotel? What’s it called? The Doghouse?

I’ll admit — I checked the date to make sure it wasn’t April 1st. It isn’t and as far as anyone can tell, the brewery that calls Columbus home is actually trying to build a hotel and attached Sour Beer Brewery.

“It’s been just over a week since the doors opened to our brand new taproom in the United States – and the number of people who have walked through those doors since has been nothing short of incredible. Our crew at DogTap Columbus are working all hours to ensure that everyone who visits has an amazing time, but today we are psyched to announce exactly how we intend to make that experience even better.

We are launching The DogHouse, Columbus – the world’s first craft beer hotel and sour brewery.”

The whole thing sounds doggone ridiculous — with a $6 million price tag to build and furnish the whole thing they’ve taken to Indiegogo to raise some capital for the whole thing.

What’s most mind-blowing are some of the rewards for the Indiegogo campaign which include:

$300 Shower Beer where they literally fill your hotel room’s shower bar with beer.

$1000 Beer Spa

$2000 Punk IPA Barrel Spa where you literally swim in a IPA-filled Hot Tub.

$5000 Design Your Own Sour Beer

$30,000 Rent the entire facility

Check out the Indiegogo campaign for all the details on this absolutely ridiculous project that’ll bring 80 new jobs to the area and “further contributing to BrewDog’s positive impact on the local area.”

On when it’ll be open they wrote, “Assuming we hit our funding goal, we are hoping to launch The DogHouse by the end of Q3 2018. The plans are already a work in progress, and design should be locked down by the end of June 2017. As and when we develop new ideas and designs, we will share them with backers!”
