Your walk will be easier, more beautiful in Clintonville soon

A project to improve walkability and beauty of Clintonville has been OK’ed.

Medians with paver stones and plants are slated to be built in the center turn lanes of Indianola from Melrose to Milford Avenues. These medians will help slow traffic and improve walkability for pedestrians trying to hit up Studio 35 Cinema and neighboring businesses, reports Columbus Business First. Plus, they’ll give you a chance to literally stop and smell the roses.

Another 100-foot median will run along North High Street from Orchard Lane to Dunedin Road. This addition will aid pedestrians trying to access shops like Wholly Craft and Global Gallery cafe.

Lastly, four brick crosswalks will be laid down across North High at Morse Road and at Acton Road by the Whetstone branch of Columbus Metropolitan Library, Henderson Road at High and East Dominion Boulevard at High, reports Columbus Business First.

This project is part of a bigger scheme called the Urban Infrastructure Recovery Fund which is a $7 million lump of money the city spends on improving older neighborhoods.
