Short North’s Branch dies, new Westies to sprout

Branch, formerly Biscuit and Branch, located at 685 N. High St in the Short North has closed and in its place will be another location of Westies Gastropub.

There was no notice posted but Google and Facebook both indicate it is permanently closed.

The restaurant rebranded in October of 2017 with a name change and a menu overhaul.

In Branch’s place will be Westies Tavern.

This mini restaurant chain has been on a roll lately—they opened a Clintonville location just two months ago.

Westies plans to wave their magic wand and have the place turned around and opened by 3pm Friday, May 4.

Westies Tavern will offer staples like pizza, wings, and burgers plus craft beer, cocktails, and a vast selection of bourbon.

While the restaurant will change, the chef from Branch will remain.

Chef Rodelio Aglibot, better know as “The Food Buddha” will be infusing his worldly flare into the menu at the Short North’s Westies.

Westies Tavern will be open for weekday lunch and dinner, weekend brunch, and late night bar hours.
