Developer claims Planet Oasis moving “full steam ahead” amidst bizarre drama
Despite some pretty weird drama, one developer is claiming Planet Oasis is moving “full steam ahead!”
David Glimcher, who has been the face of the project since its inception, issued a release Monday, stating that “lots of exciting happenings behind the scenes” are happening with the $2 billion entertainment complex planned for Sunbury.
Glimcher and his partner in Planet Oasis Ohio LLC, Lenni Male, have allegedly had “major meetings with the Ohio Department of Transportation and Delaware County officials” in recent weeks, reports This Week News.
A few months ago, Glimcher parted ways with his then-business partners in Planet Oasis, Tony and Alex Sekulovski.
After the dissolution, both Glimcher and the Sekulovskis were vocal about pursuing the entertainment complex.
In a news release in October, the Sekulovskis said they had:
“entered into discussions with David Glimcher about the possibility of Mr. Glimcher becoming one of the owners in the development group [Blue Horseshoe Ventures]. While these discussions were taking place, Mr. Glimcher provided some limited assistance to the company. Since the company and Mr. Glimcher were unable to reach agreement on the terms of him becoming an owner, the company is moving forward without him.”
Sekulovskis filed a lawsuit in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas seeking a declaratory judgment that Blue Horseshoe Ventures holds all legal rights and obligations to purchase and develop the 350 acres in Sunbury, reports This Week News.

Glimcher responded by telling The Dispatch that he has “retained counsel that’s dealing with the situation.”
It was at that time the Sekulovskis opened up a contest to the public to help them rename the Planet Oasis project in exchange for a $1,000 prize.
Last week, they announced the new name: Arcadia.
When asked on Facebook about the name change debacle, Glimcher replied:
“Unfortunately, a disgruntled ex-partner, who is not a developer, trying to compete with us.”
Planet Oasis, proposed for Routes 36/37 and Interstate 71 in Delaware County, is to include an indoor water park, a wave park for surfing, an outdoor lake, skate park, ice rink, e-sports arena and a shooting range, as well as spaces for go-kart racing, indoor skydiving, rock climbing, a 200,000-square-foot entertainment center with movie theater, bowling alley, laser tag arena, arcade and a “uni-coaster,” a roller-coaster-type attraction reaching 150 to 200 feet and so, so, so much more.
