We’re screaming for Nina West flavor of Jeni’s Ice Cream
Nina West is on a roll after a stellar performance on season 11 of Ru Paul’s Drag Race. The hometown superstar earned “Miss Congeniality” honors in the show’s recent season finale, fresh off of the release of an album of children’s music AND comedy EP.
Never content to stand still, Nina has partnered with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams for the release of an ice cream flavor, online collection, and t-shirt in celebration of Pride Month. To sweeten the deal, Jeni’s is donating 100% of profits from each item during the month of June to The Nina West Foundation, which supports LBGTQ+ causes.
“We recognize that the fight for equality continues on multiple fronts and we are a company that will stay in this fight until the very end,” said Jeni’s founder Jeni Britton Bauer via a press release. “Working to advance equality for all is front and center to who we are as a community.”
Available now at Jeni’s scoop shops nationwide, new flavor “Nina West’s Dream Puff” is described as a slightly salty vanilla custard ice cream with pastry flakes and a ribbon of strawberry sauce. The flavor will be available while supplies last.

“We based the flavor on our Cream Puff ice cream because it’s one of Nina’s favorites,” said Britton Bauer. “But we wanted something punchy to it. So we added fresh strawberry sauce because it’s one of her favorite fruits. And, for some reason, whenever I think of Nina, I always picture her in a red dress.”
Also available for purchase at jenis.com is “The Nina West Pride Collection,” a curated lineup of four of Nina’s favorite Jeni’s ice creams of the moment. Currently, the lineup includes Jeni’s flavors Gooey Butter Cake, Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam, Blackout Chocolate Cake, and the new dairy-free flavor Cold Brew with Coconut Cream.
Purchases from the collection in June will benefit the Nina West Foundation, as will sales from the 2019 Jeni’s Pride t-shirt, which is also available at jenis.com.
