Hilliard’s “mini North Market” gets tenants, tentative open date

Construction is well underway at Crooked Can Brewing Co. and Old Hilliard’s “mini North Market” concept called the Center Street Market.

The 16,000-square-foot, $3.5 million, open air market at Center and Wayne streets on the former NAPA Auto Parts store site is expected to open by the middle of October, reports This Week News.

Florida-based Crooked Can Brewing Co. will anchor the market and will be joined by 11 other tenants including Bakes by Lo, the Cheesecake Girl, Dumplings of Fury, Meatball Mafia, Pokebap, Rime Time Pops, Serendipity, Women that Farm, Wicked Lobstah, and two more that have yet to be determined.

One issue Hilliard City Council member Les Carrier foresees with Center Street Market is its lack of on-site parking. Old Hilliard has 336 parking spaces, according to Albert Iosue, Hilliard’s public-services director, per This Week News. However, an additional 105 parking spaces could be added for $400,000. Iosue expects to introduce a parking-lot proposal to City Council on June 10.

Rob Fry of Plain City, Andrew Sheeter of Orlando, Jon St. Julian of Hilliard and Tom Coughlin of Columbus formed CCB Columbus LLC that is developing the market.
