How sweet it is: Wolf’s Ridge Brewing set to release holiday cookie-beer bundles

Jack McLaughlin

Great craft beer and housemade cookies: this might not strike you as the most traditional food-drink pairing, but trust us, you’re going to want to stick around for the whole story.

Celebrated Columbus brewery Wolf’s Ridge is getting creative with their holiday offerings this year, and we all stand to benefit.

While the brewery regularly creates some inventive and delectable dessert-inspired beers (such as a pair of brews crafted after cookies with Gingerbread Cookie Clear Sky and Holiday Spiced Dire Wolf), this year they’ve pushed the boundaries on these creations by offering a holiday Cookie + Beer Bundle, featuring made-to-order cookies by the Wolf’s Ridge kitchen, with each one incorporating the beer it’s paired with.

The slate of cookies offered this year is:

-Beyond Measure Shortbread Cookie (made with Beyond Measure witbeir). Bundle price: $15.99.

-Home for the Holidays Gingerbread Cookie (made with Home for the Holidays spiced holiday ale). Bundle price $17.99.

-Monk’s Hood Chocolate Chip Cookie (made with Monk’s Hood imperial milk stout). Bundle price: $22.99.

“We actually use each beer when we make the bulk batter for the cookies,” said the Brewery’s marketing coordinator Jenny Hauck. “Everything will then be baked to order as online orders come in.”

Each bundle features five cookies and the beer it was crafted with. Beyond Measure and Home for the Holidays will be paired with a 6-pack of 12-ounce cans, and the Monk’s Hood Peanut Butter Cookie basket will come with one 22-ounce bomber-style bottle.

These will be available for preorder at the brewery’s online store starting today, and orders placed today will ship tomorrow, Dec. 1.

What’s more, Wolf’s Ridge will also be offering even more dessert-inspired beer as the holidays approach. Beginning the first week of December, pairs of cookie beer bombers can be purchased through the online store. Two 22-ounce bottles of either Gingerbread Cookie Clear Sky (a cream ale with molasses, ginger, and spices) or Holiday Spiced Dire Wolf (a festive take on the brewery’s iconic imperial stout, inspired by holiday cookies) can be purchased for $20, and each order is packaged in a beer carrier.

Mixed holiday beer cases featuring Wolf’s Ridge exciting lineup of winter seasonal beers–all cases will include one six-pack each of Impish or Admirable, Home for the Holidays, Abominable Haze, and Beyond Measure–will also be available in December.

So stock up for loved ones, or for yourself, because during a coronavirus-stricken holiday season, we all might need a drink or two. And a cookie to boot.
