Taste of Bexley: At Home Edition offers community support through carry out
Taste of Bexley is back, and this year it won’t require a ticket, an RSVP, or even a pair of pants.
The Bexley Chamber of Commerce has announced that Taste of Bexley will take place via carryout and delivery services between Oct. 12 and 18. Instead of buying tickets and dressing to the nines to try a smorgasbord of local eateries at St. Charles Preparatory School, for Taste of Bexley: At Home Edition participants will only have to mention the promotion at checkout to receive special deals.
“This year, the focus is on everything going to the restaurants, and it’s about encouraging people to shop local and to remind people of the great businesses that we have in our own backyard,” said Elain Pelz, executive director of the Bexley Chamber of Commerce.

For one week, restaurants and breweries such as Newfangled Kitchen, Seventh Son Brewing, Sweet Carrot, and Harvest Pizza will offer discounts, unique menu items, and more. Normally, the event serves as a fundraiser for the Bexley Chamber of Commerce, but this year, Pelz said it was more important to give back to the businesses that make Bexley great.
“The emphasis is on growing and sustaining Bexley businesses. It’s always been,” she said. “And this year, more than ever, they’re hurting.”
In addition to the deals, the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting gift card giveaways and prize raffles on their social media pages throughout the week.
Collin Castore, co-founder of Seventh Son and a Bexley resident, said he is excited to participate both as a business owner as well as a resident, to try the local offerings and to support the Bexley community.
“It’s a small community and everybody tries to support the local options,” said Castore. “So I think anything that can kind of help people keep going during this is great.”
Taste of Bexley will be giving back to the community in even more ways. This year, every selfie taken in front of a participating business with the hashtag #TOB2020 will result in a $1 donation from the Chamber of Commerce to Developmental Assets Resource Network, a Bexley-based non-profit that assists children and families in need.
