Wonderbus Festival to return this August

Like so many festivals, the Wonderbus Music & Arts Festival took a hiatus last year.

But Elevation Group President Denny Young said the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, the advent of vaccines, and Gov. Mike DeWine’s recent adjustment to state-issued event venue restrictions all contributed to the decision to hold the festival Aug. 28-29 at the lawn at CAS at 2540 Olentangy River Rd.

“We just feel that there’s positive momentum, and that by the end of August, the world is going to be even better,” Young said.

If restrictions continue and event capacity would be greatly reduced, Wonderbus would be cancelled, Young said.

But as of now, the festival, first held in 2019, is very much on.

“We are very optimistic, and we have a renewed sense of determination to deliver a safe festival when we can reopen,” Young said.

The lineup is already booked, and is expected to be announced along with ticket information next month, he said.
