Check out hundreds of scarecrows along this Fairfield County trail

Jack McLaughlin

There might not be a single crow in all of Fairfield County this month.

That’s because the annual Trail of Scarecrows—an event that sees more than 250 each year—is on display throughout the month of October.

Spanning 14 different communities within the county, the trail utilizes a digital map that describes each scarecrow’s location within a given municipality.

This setup means the trail is an ideal way to not only take in hundreds of scarecrows, but also an abundance of peak fall colors and the beautiful Ohio countryside as you make your way through this Central Ohio county.

Scarecrows for the event are created by individuals, families, businesses, organizations, and everything in between. Some of our favorite scarecrow names so far (you can access the full list of those entered and vote for your favorite) are Covid Karen, from Keller Family Chiropractic and Vincent Van Crow, from Cynthia Boles.

And in case you’re after a bit more interaction, you can download the Visit Fairfield County Ohio app to take part in a wide-reaching scarecrow challenge.
