A Taste for Travel: The Kitchen’s dinner and a movie series goes global

Columbus, what if we told you there was a way to take your taste buds on a trip around the world this year from the comfort of your couch?

The Kitchen in December featured a Dinner & Holiday Movie Series, featuring pre-made, three-course meals inspired by your favorite holiday films.

Now, they’ve planned a tour of the world for their next Dinner and a Movie series, featuring a different country each month.

“We decided to do a culinary tour of the world because we were personally feeling so much wanderlust, and we know how much food can transport us and bring people joy,” said co-owner Anne Boninsegna.

This month, The Kitchen’s Dinner and a Movie series features Italy. The Friday dinner is inspired by the movie “The Godfather,” and the three-course menu includes Ribollita Toscana Soup, Lasagna Bolognese or 3-Cheese Lasagna, and Torta di Ricotta with Port Cherries.

Customers can pre-order by noon Friday, Jan. 22 for same-day, curbside pickup from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Kitchen, 231 E. Livingston Ave.

“We felt like starting the year off with something comforting like Italian food, and then of course celebrating romanticism with France in February made so much sense,” Boninsengna said. “We plan to head to Spain from there, and then well, the world is our oyster I guess.”
