After opening in October, new sushi restaurant announces temporary closure

Hashi, a new restaurant serving up Japanese sushi and Korean cuisine, opened in Granville last month, but the new spot is already shutting operations down for the time being.

According to a statement posted to Hashi’s Instagram account yesterday evening, the eatery will be closed until further notices due to an illness affecting staff members.

“Thank you all so much for the support since we opened our doors. After some illness has hit our staff, we have decided to remain temporarily closed until further notice,” the statement reads.

It was not specified whether or not the illness referred to is COVID-19. The restaurant did not return a request for comment by the time this article was published.

In addition to Hashi’s closure, Hashi Up—a second-floor event space and bar located directly above the restaurant—will also remain temporarily closed. The timeline of the closure was not specified.
