Cameron Mitchell’s Newest restaurant opens today

It’s official: El Segundo Mexican Kitchen opens today at 4 p.m.

The new new Short North eatery–located at 698 N. High St.– will focus on a wide variety of Mexican cuisine and wood-aged tequila.

“It has been a long-standing dream of Cameron’s to create an authentic Mexican restaurant with our own CMR flavor of genuine hospitality,” said CMR’s regional director of operations Amberlyn Heiney. “El Segundo brings the heat to High Street, and we hope guests will love our flavorful dishes and creative cocktails.”

The menu features burritos, fajitas, and tacos, all served on from-scratch tortillas. That’s in addition to fundido, ceviche, Mexican street corn, and full entrees like a green chile cheeseburger and Baja fish.

And to wash all that down, El Segundo is offering a diverse spread of Mexican beers, authentic cocktails, and over 100 different varities of tequila. Diners feeling especially adventurous can even opt for one of several different tequila flights. 

The new CMR eatery will be open for dinner Tuesday-Thursday, from 4-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4-11 p.m., and Sunday from 4-10 p.m. Happy hour will take place from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.
