Columbus Taco Fest to return this fall in two-day event

Okay, Columbus. Turns out we don’t have to wait a full year for Taco Fest to return.

According to a release, The Taco Squad, who brought us Columbus Taco Fest and Columbus Taco Week, is planning the third annual festival for Oct. 9-10 at Goodale Park.

Event Organizer Hugo Albornoz told us that this is their first two-day event. The festival typically is held in the spring, but because of the pandemic, was pushed to fall in a new location.

“We are thrilled to be hosting the event at such an important location to Columbus and we believe it will be a great success,” Albornoz said.

According to the release, a portion of festival proceeds will benefit the Ohio Restaurant Association’s Ohio Restaurant Employee Relief Fund, an emergency fund created to support Columbus’ food service industry employees affected by the pandemic.

Hours will be noon to 10 p.m. Oct. 9 and noon to 8 p.m. Oct. 10. Participating taco trucks as well as a music lineup will be listed soon at columbustacofest.com.

The Taco Squad in May held a “Grab-N-Go” version of Taco Fest at the Ohio History Connection. Last month, they followed up with Columbus Taco Week.
