Four more Sheetz stores slated to open this summer
The convenience store gods have heard our prayers, and evidently, they’re working.
The first Sheetz store in central Ohio is slated to open April 13 at 710 Sunbury Rd., and four more (!) are coming soon.
Sheetz President and COO Travis Sheetz said Sheetz locations are expected to open by July in Obetz, Circleville, New Albany, and Hilliard.
The Sheetz-Columbus love affair is anything but a fling. Sheetz said the business first looked at the Columbus market about 15 years ago, because of the city’s growth and infrastructure and proximity to I-70 (Sheetz stores can be found on this interstate going east.)
“We’ve always liked it,” Sheetz said.

Sheetz said he plans to open about 50 Sheetz locations in the Columbus-metro area within five years, at a pace of about 11 or 12 stores annually.
And while they’re convenience stores, Sheetz said the locations don’t fit squarely within that category.
“You kind of have to experience it to really get it,” he said. “It’s a kind of restaurant inside the convenience store.”
The Sunbury Road location features a drive-thru, as well as curbside service. It will also feature SheetzGo, which will give visitors the opportunity to self-checkout and pay for products with a Sheetz app.
