Get ready for March Madness, cheesecake style

Columbus, it’s time to take your favorite cheesecake flavor from your dreams to reality.

Beginning tomorrow, March 16, The Cheesecake Girl is letting customers vote bracket-style for their favorite flavor from 32 options. The winning flavor stays on their menu for a limited time.

Owner Samantha Strange said Cheesecake Madness started four years ago to give customers the opportunity to vote on the flavors they want The Cheesecake Girl to make.

“Every year submissions have grown by hundreds, and every year it’s harder to choose, especially as our menu grows,” she said.

The top 32 flavors were seeded yesterday on a bracket, and customers tomorrow have the chance to vote via The Cheesecake Girl’s Instagram stories, Strange said. The next round of voting on the remaining 16 flavors will be March 18. After that, the Elite 8 flavors will be available at The Cheesecake Girl’s Hilliard bakery for customers to try prior to voting.

“Contestants get to enter one flavor each and are notified along the way as to how far their flavor gets in the competition,” Strange said. “The winner gets a 9-inch cheesecake in the winning flavor and the flavor stays on our menu for a limited time.”

“Last year was really fun due to the lack of the actual NCAA March Madness basketball tournament. People got really into it,” Strange said. “We offered a Final Four Box (one slice of each of the final four flavors) and we plan to do that again this year.”
