Honey Cup Coffee Co. to open SoHud storefront

Jack McLaughlin

Honey Cup Coffee Co. is known around the SoHud neighborhood for operating out of a vintage trailer at 2519 Summit St., but now they’re putting down roots. Earlier today, Honey Cup announced that it will be opening its first brick-and-mortar space next spring inside the forthcoming bar Lovebirds.

Located at 367 E. Hudson, Lovebirds, a new bar and music venue, plans to open later this year.

According to Honey Cup, which first opened this spring, the Lovebirds space will provide plenty of elbow room for the budding coffee company, a welcome change from the confines of a cramped trailer..

“This will be one of the most spacious specialty coffee shops in Columbus offering 2 stories and extensive patio space,” a statement on their Instagram reads.

The brainchild of OSU Grad and former Brioso barista Joel McPeak, Honey Cup plans to focus on a core menu featuring drinks like lattes, Americanos, and espresso.

And even though they’ll be sharing a storefront with Lovebirds, McPeak says fans of the vintage trailer need not worry, as he plans to continue serving coffee from it.
