Legacy Smokehouse damaged in downtown Hilliard fire

The popular barbecue eatery Legacy Smokehouse, located at 3987 Main St. in Hilliard, caught fire yesterday evening. The building was damaged in the blaze.

According to the Norwich Township Fire Department, it wasn’t immediately clear what caused the fire, which appeared to have originated from the rear of the building.

“Our crews arrived and found heavy smoke and fire toward the rear of the building that was quickly extinguished,” the department said in a statement posted to their social media accounts.

As the building caught fire after hours, no injuries were reported in the incident. The fire is still under investigation.
