Move aside igloos; popular Columbus brewery introduces “polar cabanas”

Jack McLaughlin

Staying warm this winter just got a whole lot cooler, thanks to Hoof Hearted Brewing. The popular craft brewery has introduced their very own cool and luxurious “polar cabanas.”

Now offered at the brewery’s Marengo location, at 300 County Rd. 26 (roughly 25 miles north of downtown Columbus), the cabanas give visitors a way to stay out of the cold in style. There are three cabanas in total.

New this year (construction on them was competed last week), the polar cabanas resemble miniature, open face A-frames log cabins. Translucent material used for the roofing allows light into the structure.

The stylish, minimal-chic shelters each have lights and their own heaters, although according to a Hoof Hearted employee, the heating system in one of the cabanas won’t be operational until later this week.

The cabanas are free and available on a first come, first served basis.
