New Carfagna’s location to include pizzeria, cafe

If you’re jonesing for a trip to Italy, your next best bet might just be a visit to Carfagna’s. 

The goal is to make the new Polaris location, expected to open by July, feel like a walk through an Italian piazza, according to Director of Marketing Salvatore Carfagna. 

“We really wanted to enhance the customer’s experience and make this entire concept immersive in Italian culture,” Salvatore said.

To that end, Carfagna’s new home at 1440 Gemini Pl. will feature not only Carfagna’s Italian Market and Carfagna’s Restaurant, but also a bakery and pizzeria that pay homage to the Carfagna family. 

Cafe Cece was named for Cecilia, grandmother to Salvatore and his sister Francesca, while Eddie’s Pizzeria was named for their grandfather. 

Francesca Carfagna said the names help the family feel like their grandparents are still with them. 

“We owe a lot to them and miss them daily,” she said. 

Cafe Cece will showcase Francesca’s skill in the sweets department. Guests will be able to get Italian pastries, cookies, gelato, and espresso. There will be favorites previously available at the market and restaurant, and also new arrivals, such as the gelato. 

“I’m very excited,” Francesca said. 

The baked goods will be available to go, or guests can enjoy them in a dining area at the center of the restaurant, bar, and market. 

The same will also be true for Eddie’s Pizzeria, which will offer personal-sized pizzas made to order, as well as sandwiches and paninis.
