New spot for decadent Coney dogs now open in Clintonville

Because no city can ever have too many options for good hot dogs, it’s about time we welcome another to Columbus: Dad’s Coneys & Wraps is open for business in Clintonville.

Located at 128 Graceland Blvd. in Graceland Shopping Center, Dad’s is owned by Frank Prince (who also owns Talita’s), son of longtime Columbus chef Tony Pierce.

According to Frank, his father crafted his very own Coney sauce decades ago, and that same recipe is featured on Dad’s dogs today.

“Columbus had some great Coney Island shops in those days, and [Tony] knew he had to create a great recipe to compete. Working in his small kitchen in the Short North of Columbus he created this wonderful coney sauce, which became well known,” a statement from Dad’s reads. “Frankie, working with his father at the young age of nine years old learned how this sauce was made.”

And while Coney dogs are front and center at the eatery, Dad’s also features loose beef and pulled chicken sandwiches, a variety of loose beef burrito wraps and even Coney spaghetti.

The eatery is open Monday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. Dad’s is closed on Sunday.
