New spot for sushi, Korean cuisine opens minimal-chic storefront

Granville diners have a fresh new outpost for sushi.

Hashi, a new concept focusing on both Japanese sushi and Korean cuisine, officially opened for business yesterday at 128 E. Broadway in Granville. The site was formerly home to Moe’s Original BBQ, which closed in May.

Customers can expect fresh fish delivered regularly from Japan as a pillar of the new spot’s offerings.

Inside the new Granville eatery, clean, minimal design concepts create an atmosphere that’s modern and chic, without overwhelming. It features an abundance of natural wood, both in its booth seating and sleek wall decor. This is in addition to a handful of fun, unique light fixtures.

The new Japanese and Korean eatery has partnered with Meiwen See, a Los Angeles-based artist and designer, to generate streamlined branding to match Hashi’s interior.

And Granville residents looking for a fun night out won’t have to travel very far after grabbing dinner, either. The second floor of the building Hashi operates out of is also home Hashi Up, a bar and lounge featuring dark wood, exposed brick, and classic neon signage.
