Noble Cut Distillery rebrands, introduces first-ever craft vodka

Not only is the Gahanna-based Distillery Noble Cut debuting its first-ever vodka, they’re rolling out an entirely new aesthetic alongside it.

“During COVID, when we were making hand sanitizer I was really thinking about how Noble Cut has matured a lot more in everything we were doing,” said owner Tony Guilfoy. “But we still needed to look the part, that’s where the rebrand came in.”

Their previous branding, which featured a hand-drawn logo, diagonal stripe of color, and a quietly vintage vibe has been replaced by a sleek, simple, and highly-polished look. Their new labels contain bolder lettering, stronger colors, while retaining an overall refined and understated feel.

The distillery’s rebrand also syncs up with the release of its first-ever vodka.

“Typically, when a distillery opens, you start with clear liquid,” Guilfoy said. “I did the opposite.”

He said the recipe took over two years to perfect, as Noble Cut wanted to dial in every possible variable. It’s made from wheat, unlike many American vodkas, which Guilfoy says are made from corn.

“Alcohol tastes like the grain it comes from. The wheat we ended up using had soft, sweet notes in it, and that’s the profile I was going for: Soft, sweet, and clean,” he said. “It has a lot more characteristics, and people want characteristics. They don’t want your normal ethanol, jet fuel-style vodka.”
