Pizza place to open third location in Hilliard

After recently opening a Gahanna location this past November, Sexton’s Pizza wasn’t looking to expand again.

But when the owner of the Westwood Collective had Sexton’s food truck out for a family birthday party and asked the restaurant to be part of planned Hilliard development The Junction by Westwood, Sexton’s co-owner Joey Sexton said they couldn’t turn it down.

“It’s very exciting,” said Sexton.

Sexton and his brother, Jamey Sexton, are both U.S. Army veterans and started Sexton’s with a food truck in 2016 in Tampa, Florida. But the Gahanna natives returned home to turn their food truck business into a restaurant, opening in Reynoldsburg in 2018 and then Gahanna in November.

Joey Sexton said their third location is slated to open this summer at 5450 Franklin St. The new space is going to have a full-blown tavern feel, with a full bar and a big-screen TV. There will be a private room with garage doors, and a patio in the front and back of the restaurant.

“It’s just going to be a whole different experience,” Sexton said.

The pizza place will be just one part of The Junction by Westwood, a development that according to the city of Hilliard is slated to include office space for local entrepreneurs and small businesses as well as co-working space inside a converted warehouse.
