Polaris Fashion Place’s newest tenant is the stuff of our candy-coated dreams

Polaris Fashion Place has brand new creative confection.

Shelby’s Sugar Shop opened Jan. 22 near Center Court, according to a press release, and features candies, craft sweets, chocolates, and unique specialty products and beverages.

The shop is adorned with life-size statues of the store’s namesake, Shelby, and the young girl’s dog. The interactive candy store illustrates Shelby’s journey with large-scale bridge installations and animated vignettes highlighting her transition from a picturesque country setting to the urban atmosphere of a big city.

Shelby’s Sugar Shop, a concept from Columbus-based REIT Washington Prime Group, also has locations in Colorado, Florida, and New Mexico. Other Ohio locations include Youngstown and Mentor.
