Popular Italian Village ice cream spot closing until March
While ice cream loses a bit of its luster during the colder months, we all still have those days when it seems like nothing but an oversized scoop of mint chocolate chip will do the trick.
Soon enough, though, Columbus will have one less ice cream option, as a popular Italian Village shop is taking over two months off this winter. S’wich Social, the artisan ice cream sandwich vendor located at 869 N. Fourth St., announced last week that it plans to take an extended break, starting Dec. 19.
The storefront will close for the rest of December, in addition to all of January and February. It will resume normal operations in March.

According to a statement posted to S’wich Social’s Instagram, the closure is taking place to give employees a chance to rest, recharge, as well as plan for the upcoming year.
S’wich Social, which adjusted its fall hours this year to give employees more time to spend with their families as well, isn’t the only Columbus restaurant opting for extended closures, either. Restaurants like Sweet Carrot, Luck Bros Coffee House and The Silo have all done the same recently.
