Ray Ray’s new restaurant opens next month in Granville
This spring ushers in a new chapter in Ray Ray’s Hog Pit history.
On April 7, the barbecue business will celebrate the grand opening of Ray Ray’s Meat + Three at 1256 Columbus Rd. The Granville eatery is the first dine-in restaurant for Ray Ray’s, which started out as a Clintonville food truck in 2011.
Marketing Manager Heidi Oliver said Ray Ray’s Meat + Three, named for the three sides served with Ray Ray’s bold barbecue, will have new recipes and new smoking techniques.
“It’s all brand new,” she said.

Although Ray Ray’s Meat + Three is a full-service restaurant, guests will begin by ordering at the front counter. And they’ll have a variety of sides from which to choose, from fresh salad to rich mac and cheese, Oliver said.
The goal, she said, is to take barbecue’s southern-style atmosphere and combine it with Ray Ray’s urban flair with a menu featuring quality local ingredients and pigs from around Ohio.
The innovation is the result of a new partnership between founder and owner James Anderson and chef Bill Glover, who previously served as executive chef for the Hilton Columbus and was behind former Clintonville restaurant Sage.
“He had quite a lot under his belt,” Oliver said.
While Anderson lives in Granville and owns Anderson Farms there, the decision to open Ray Ray’s Meat + Three in Granville was more about the right opportunity opening up, Oliver said.
And now, the team is excited to join a new, smaller community after establishing a strong presence in Columbus. Ray Ray’s Hog Pit food trucks are in Clintonville, Franklinton, and Powell, and a drive-thru location is at 5755 Maxtown Rd. in Westerville.
