The Weekender: Three courses at North Market Bridge Park

Alyson Strickler-Vazquez

I am always on the hunt for an economical foodie adventure without feeling like I’m scrimping. North Market Bridge Park has continued to expand its merchants giving Dublin a wallet-friendly option that allows you to take on multiple courses and cuisines all in one sitting (did I mention they have a bar). After your meal, Bridge Park has plenty of lively options for an engaging date, like a romantic stroll across the new pedestrian bridge or a game of Mortal Kombat at 16 Bit Bar+Arcade for the competitive couple.

Black Radish Creamery, whose booth feels placed off a Parisian street, is known for its abundance of specialty cheeses and fancy accouterments. BRC recently launched a menu that features gourmet grilled cheeses, rotating seasonal soup, and my first course, the BRC Cheese Board (make sure to get the charcuterie add-on). Beautifully displayed and bookended by local honey and fruit, the board layers multiple cheeses and salami to create a refined plate.

Insider Tip – BRC creates custom cheese and charcuterie boards that can be pre-ordered and elevate any gathering.

Saddleberk officially opened this week and is a triple-threat showcasing a restaurant, butcher, and grocery. My second course consisted of the Berkshire Pork Schnitzel accompanied by arugula, lemon, and house-made honey mustard. The pork was pounded thin with an evenly distributed breading, golden brown, and cut through by the bitter arugula, citrus, and a sweet and tangy kick from the honey mustard. Other standouts are their Butcher Burger, Pork Dip, and Midwest Hero.

Insider Tip – Make sure to stop by the butcher and pick up a few of their notable pork offerings: pork belly, chorizo, chops… they have it all!

BREaD Bakery + Cafe is on brand, contributing the aroma and bustling shelves of a bakery and carrying everything from herbed olive sourdough, buttery croissants, scones, and decadent chocolate brownies. My must-have and third course is BREaD’s Chocolate Chip Cookie with Sea Salt. The golden exterior provides the perfect snap into the buttery cake-like center that brims with chocolate chips and is finished with a snow-peak of sea salt.

Insider Tip – Pick up a pre-wrapped sandwich to indulge in during the workweek. I don’t mind Mondays when I know I have their Italian sandwich waiting for me at lunchtime!

My favorite part of visiting North Market Bridge Park is leaving with a fully satisfied appetite and taking home a full sack of locally sourced goods to use throughout the week.
