Check out the Westerville festival dedicated entirely to fair and carnival food

From corn dogs to funnel cakes, with an elephant ear or a greasy burger thrown in for good measure: we’re all about fair foods.

And even though fair and festival season in central Ohio is quickly winding down, you have one more chance to experience all your favorite fair eats in one place.

And it’s happening weekend.

The Fair Food Truck Festival will take place Sept. 10-12 at the Westerville Naz, located at 355 Cherrington Rd. in Westerville.

“You can expect local fair food vendors selling Twinkies, funnel cakes, corn dogs, fries, fresh lemonade, steak sandwiches, gyros, and more,” a Facebook post for the festival reads.

According to Westerville Naz associate pastor Edward Solano, the event started in 2020 as a way to give local fair food vendors—many of whom wee struggling due to COVID-related event cancellations—a venue to sell their wares. The event also doubled as a way to offer Westerville residents a fun night out.

“At the same, we will have the opportunity to provide our community with a chance to go out with their family,” Solano said. “They will be able to eat fair food (which was not easy to find in 2020) and be able to have a family activity outside of their house.”

The event will take place on Sept. 10 from 5:30-9p.m., Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. through 9 p.m., and on Sept 12 from 12-7 p.m.
