Reynoldsburg event venue slated for June opening

Part of a historic Reynoldsburg building is getting repurposed into an event venue set to open this summer.

1883 Locale, named for the year the building at 7345 ½ E. Main St. was built, will have its first wedding Aug. 7, said Christene Logesky, who co-owns the venue with husband Andrew Logesky. The team is planning a grand opening in June.

“The portion of our building was a hall and was used for graduations, dances, comedic events, dinners, and more,” Logesky said.

The building has had many purposes over the years, she said. The downstairs was a hardware store for three generations. In the mid to late 1900s, the upstairs was used as a teen center, with a bowling alley and arcade games. The site was also home to the Reynoldsburg Historical Museum.

Logesky said her family purchased the building last year, after their family pizza business began leasing the bottom part of the building.

“The space upstairs sat vacant for over five years years until we purchased it, and we have been on the road to restoring its history and purpose ever since,” she said. “The name was our way of honoring history.”

The venue will have an industrial style, with industrial pipe shelves and Edison bulb lights. The color scheme will be neutral: Think black, white, and wood tones. The main room can accomodate events of 40 people and more, and it has a full bar. A smaller room is used for catering or staff luncheons, tutoring classes, and more. A third room is used as a bridal suite, as well as baby showers and other events.

Logesky said she and her husband are open to hosting any type of event. They have a personal background in wedding photography, and have opened the space up for photo rentals as well.

Event tours are being offered now from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and one Saturday per month.
