Le Vieux Lyon French Bakery was originally intending on opening its new, larger location at 1792 Brice Rd. on Nov. 12, after the spot for traditional French baked goods had already been closed for seven months.

And then another setback occurred.

“Unfortunately we won’t be able to open this Saturday we still have few more things to complete for final inspection. I’m truly sorry for the inconvenience,” a statement from the bakery’s Instagram account posted on Nov. 9 reads. “It has been a very challenging time for me and my family and I hope you all understand.”

Finally, however, the final hurdles have been cleared, and Le Vieux Lyon is once again open for business. The bakery officially reopened on Friday.

After relocating from its original storefront, which was located in the same shopping center at 1774 Brice Rd., the bakery now boasts more dine-space plus a brand-new tea house space and a small French market.

“Being able to serve our customers again it’s like a dream come through. We missed seeing their beautiful faces and smiles, specially their positive energy,” co-owner Mohammed Halaoui said.
