After 43 years, local pizzeria preparing to reopen in brand-new location, complete with ice cream shop

After operating at 619 Main St. in Groveport since 1979, Littly Italy Pizza is ready for an upgrade.

Soon, the long-standing pizzeria will move several blocks west to its new home in the Wert’s Grove Building, which is located at 490 Main St.

According to Operations Manager Avery Ward, the process should be a “smooth transition” with little downtime. The original location currently remains open, and Ward believes the pizzeria will only need to close for approximately a week before opening the new storefront.

Ward said that supply chain delays and issues receiving CAD drawings from vendors have pushed the move back, but he anticipates it will take place in late December or Early January.

“It’s going to bring an entirely new guest experience that we have never been able to deliver before. It really will be an experience like no other in our area,” Ward said. “I’ve got an awesome staff on board who are all so very excited about our expansion and having a larger place to work in and develop new expertise.”

And not only will the new location provide Little Italy with a sleek new interior and more room, the pizzeria is also planning to add a hand-dipped ice cream shop inside the new store. It will also feature a retail space selling Little Italy gear. We’ve included some renderings of the new space below.

Ward said Little Italy isn’t done growing after the new location, either. The concept plans to add a food truck in 2024, and a second brick and mortar restaurant in 2025.
