Artisan Macaron vendor opening first-ever brick and mortar storefront

Sarah Sole

We never met a macaron we didn’t like, so we’re stoked to hear that a new storefront is in the works.

Mjomii, a licensed home bakery specializing in macarons, announced via its Facebook page that its first storefront will open this fall at Carriage Place.

The space will be adjacent to Cinemark Carriage Place Movies 12, which is at 2570 Bethel Rd. Construction began May 25 at the new space, which will feature a wide variety of macarons and macaron cakes, as well as a small selection of other desserts. The new storefront will also sell locally roasted coffee and tea-based beverages.

“Everything on our menu will be 100% gluten free, and there will be quite a few more Asian-inspired items than we offer currently,” the post reads in part.

Mjomii, which was founded at the beginning of 2018, features handmade, gluten-free French macarons in a variety of flavors. Until the new storefront opens, the bakery will continue offering curbside pickup from its home bakery. Pickup hours are from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. Wednesday, 1:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. You can also find Mjomii at the Dublin Market from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays from May through September, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 26 and July 24 at the German Village Makers Market.

Classic Flavors include salted caramel, raspberry, vanilla rose, strawberry cream, honey lemon, taro cream, milk & lavender, pistachio, coffee, and chocolate. The bakery also has additional rotating flavors.
