While details on the remaining vendors making up the new location of Saraga International Grocery’s food court are still coming in, the first eatery of many has opened.

Say hello to Mi Yaad, the city’s newest spot for authentic Jamaican fare.

The eatery is located on the northern side of Saraga–located at 2750 S. Hamilton–among a handful of other international eateries like Kay’s Soul Food, Bakery 3 Espigas De Guadalajara, Smiling Taco and Family Asian Cuisine, although these have not yet opened.

Mi Yaad, which translates to “my home” in Jamaican Patois, features a variety of dishes hailing from the island nation. This includes oxtail, fried chicken, jerk chicken and curry goat. Diners can also opt for a variety of sides like traditional beef patties, rice and peas, and even Jamaican peas.

The new restaurant is also fielding online orders through Uber Eats.
