Sticky Fingers Ice Cream Parlor is on the move.

The popular family-owned dessert spot in Galena announced earlier this week that it plans to open a second location in the village of Kilbourne, located at the north end of Alum Creek Lake.

The new ice cream shop will be located at 3967 Main St. in Kilbourne. Sticky Fingers will take up half of the building’s first floor.

The building, located next to the Kilbourne Market, is part of a unique community initiative called The Kilbourne Project. The project, spearheaded by a group of local families, has invested heavily in the small town in order to reinvigorate it.

“We’re extremely excited to expand our business this year after five years of being open. The Kilbourne Market felt like a natural extension of the business since our original shop is located next to Chesire Market,” said Maddie Himes, co-owner of Sticky Fingers. “We’d like to thank all of our amazing fans for supporting us throughout these crazy past few years. This expansion wouldn’t be possible without them.”

Sticky Fingers, which will open its original Galena location again for the summer season on April 1, did not announce an exact opening date for the new storefront, but said it is slated to open this summer.
