Columbus Brewing provides update, target opening time, for near east side restaurant and taproom

Jack McLaughlin

In case you didn’t know, Columbus Brewing Company—which is currently located on the City’s west side—is bringing an exciting new restaurant and taproom to the Trolley District development.

The development is located on the city’s near east side, which means Columbus Brewing will be bringing even more food and drink options to the burgeoning area, and will be expanding to the opposite side of Columbus.

The longtime central Ohio brewery shared an update to its social media accounts—alongside progress photos—yesterday morning.

According to the post, the new restaurant plans to retain as much of the Trolley District’s historical charm—the development is built on a former hub for the city’s trolley cars—as possible. And that means plenty of vintage brickwork.

“Our team wanted to keep as much of the character as possible—so we kept the original brick walls, ceiling, and support beams which brings so much history to life,” the post reads.

Additionally, the update shared that the tile work in the new space, which Columbus Brewing refers to as a “beer hall,” is nearly complete.

While there’s still plenty of work to do before we can enjoy the space, its grand opening is coming up quickly. According to Columbus Brewing’s Director of Marketing Evan Magliocca, early 2023 isw the target opening date for the new restaurant.
