Columbus restaurant to hold candy-topped spaghetti eating contest inspired by hit holiday movie “Elf”

Maple syrup, chocolate syrup, marshmallows, M&Ms, rainbow sprinkles and a Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tart.

The items on this list probably don’t sound like the most appealing spaghetti toppings, but one Columbus restaurant is holding a pasta-eating contest with them in the spotlight.

Inspired by the scene in “Elf” where Will Ferrell’s character consumes a pile of spaghetti covered in syrup and sweets, Piada Italian Street Food’s Easton location will be holding its first-ever “Elf”-inspired spaghetti eating contest later this month.

The Eat Like an Elf Spaghetti Eating Contest will be held on Dec. 16 at the Easton Piada, which is located at 4025 Easton Station. The contest will begin at 2 p.m.

If you’re brave enough, you can sign up to participate in the contest on Piada’s website starting tomorrow. The event will feature five competitors, and the person who eats the most pasta and sugary toppings in five minutes will win. The winner will receive free Piada for a year.

Guests will even be able to try the “Elf”-inspired pasta after the event, but we wouldn’t recommend doing so.
