Combination Southern restaurant, live music venue now open downtown

A unique and anticipated new downtown spot for food and fun is now officially open for business.

LaSalle’s Southern Kitchen & Bar held its grand opening event over the weekend, from Jan. 14-16. It is located downtown at 30 S. Young St.

Billed as a combination Southern kitchen and live music venue, LaSalle’s hosted a three day long opening event that allowed patrons to order food and drinks as well as take in musical performances.

The weekend even featured a soul food brunch yesterday, which served up everything from chicken and waffles to Cajun shrimp and Parmesan.

Co-owner A.K. Jones, who owns the eatery alongside Asia Cordova and Alfred Jordan, said the eatery is inspired by and named after his grandmother.

LaSalle’s Southern Kitchen & Bar is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
