Longtime fixture in the Columbus dining scene Jeff Parenteau passed away on Jan. 31., and his untimely death will also bring an end to his popular Dublin restaurant and bar.

Earlier today, The Bogey Inn Bar & Grill—which was owned by Parenteau—announced it will be shuttering permanently following to his passing.

It will close after service on Feb. 26.

The Bogey Inn, located at 6013 Glick Rd., has served throughout the years as a popular upscale sports bar, and is known particularly for its massive patio. The site has operated in a similar capcity since it first opened in the 1920s as the Dam Bar (named for the nearby O’Shaughnessy Dam).

“As many of you are aware, our owner was in a tragic accident and has recently passed,” a statement posted to the Bogey Inn’s Facebook page reads. “Due to this unfortunate and devastating circumstance, along with many other obstacles during Covid, it has become unfeasible for us to keep running the business at the level of excellence that we are known for and what our owner would have wanted to continue.”
