Frank’s Famous Strombolis closing location, to be replaced by another local pizzeria

While Frank’s Famous Stromboli, Pizza & More is shuttering its 6457 N. Hamilton Rd. location, another long-standing local favorite is stepping in where it left off.

Carsonie’s Stromboli & Pizza Kitchen, which has served as a Columbus favorite spot for the last three decades, is planning to open its third location on Feb. 16 at the former Frank’s site.

The new pizzeria, like Frank’s, will not offer dine-in options, and will serve as a carryout and catering only hub.

According to a Carsonie’s representative, the owners of both eateries are family members, which should result in a smooth transition between the two pizzerias.

Carsonie’s was founded by Frank Weisenstein in 1987, and the eatery’s Upper Arlington location was later launched by Christy and David Zadnik, Weisenstein’s daughter and son-in-law. Weisenstein eventually sold Carsonie’s original Westerville store–located at 6000 Westerville Rd.– to the Zadniks as well. Frank Weisenstein opened Frank’s Famous Stromboli, Pizza & More in 2019.

Frank’s did not immediately return a request for comment by the time this story was published. It’s unclear whether the pizzeria will be relocating or closing for good.
