Gourmet hot dog restaurant permanently closes; replaced by brewery and restaurant

While Uptown Marysville is about to lose one restaurant, it stands to gain another food and drink concept that’s new to the city. After being purchased by the managing partners of Elevate Restaurant Group and Barrel & Boar Gastropub this summer, Mad Dogs & Beer closed its doors for good on Oct. 18.

According to a press release, the eatery’s new owners have partnered with a popular Central Ohio brewery to bring a new taproom and kitchen to Mad Dog’s former home, located in the historic National Bank Building at 108 S. Main St.

Homestead Beer Co. will be opening its first Marysville taproom and kitchen in the former Mad Dogs space. An opening date hasn’t been announced yet.

“We are over the moon to work with Stan and his team to bring a Homestead Taproom to Marysville,“ said Homestead Beer Company founder Adam Rhodes in a press release. “Marysville has always been an incredible supporter of our beer, and we’re thrilled to have a chance to bring a full taproom to uptown.”

This is the second partnership between the central Ohio businesses, as Homestead has previously teamed up with Elevate and Barrel & Boar for the Homestead Public House in the Cherry Valley Hotel.

The popular central Ohio brewery will bring craft beer in addition to a full menu of shareable plates, burgers and sandwiches, wings, hot dogs and more to Uptown Marysville.
