Grand opening of new Columbus-area ice cream shop brings sweet flavors, plenty of neon

With temperatures stuck in the 90s for a second straight day, ice cream sounds like a pretty good idea.

And now, there’s a flashy new spot in the Columbus area to try.

Drip Dreams, the neon-splattered scoop shop located at 17 W. Main St. in Newark, held its grand opening on June 4.

The new ice cream shop features nearly 20 different premium flavors, including Red Velvet Cake, Cow Tracks, Strawberry Cheesecake and many more. Patrons can purchase ice cream by the scoop, opt for a sundae or purchase a Dream Shake, hefty milkshakes decked out in handfuls of candy, an entire slice of cheesecake and more. Classic milkshakes are also available.

Drip Dreams, which is owned by Josh and Kendra Dush, Adam Jenkins and Courtney Plaisted, features not only a literally splattering of neon color throughout the shop’s interior, but also a rainbow of neon creating a drip effect on the storefront’s facade.

The new ice cream shop is open from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 12-9 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Drip Dreams is closed on Monday.
