The Peanut Shoppe, one of the oldest businesses in Downtown Columbus, is on track to reopen this fall.

According to new banners put up outside of the business and a statement posted to its social media accounts, the iconic Downtown spot will reopen in November. An exact reopening date hasn’t been announced yet.

The building the Peanut Shoppe is located in, at 21 E. State St., is currently undergoing “extensive renovations.” It closed on May 7.

The Peanut Shoppe was first opened in 1936 by Planters Peanuts, and has been serving customers in Downtown Columbus now for more than 85 years.

While the store has offered curbside pickup throughout its renovations, this service will be temporarily suspended while store owners take a vacation. Curbside pickup will resume on Sept. 1.
