Here’s when this iconic Northeast Ohio pizzeria plans to open Westerville location
We’ve waited, Columbus, and good things have come to us.
DiCarlo’s Pizza, the historic Ohio pizza chain that first opened in Steubenville in 1945, announced it was adding a Westerville location late last year, and now we know when it plans to open.
According to franchisee Michael Carlson, the Westerville DiCarlo’s is hoping to hold its grand opening at the end of May, although Carlson did not name an official opening date.

“We started this journey back in July of last year. We got the keys to our place in November, even though we’ve had delays with the permitting process and construction supply chain challenges raising costs of materials, we keep pushing through because we are excited to bring this awesome brand to the people of Westerville,” Carlson said. “My wife, myself and my kids are so excited to be part of this pizza shop and the community.”
According to Carlson, the official DiCarlo’s signage went up earlier this week, and the couple began training at another DiCarlo’s location.
DiCarlo’s has two other Central Ohio locations.
At roughly 700 square feet, the new location will feature an open kitchen so customers are able to watch the preparation of their food. It will also serve alcohol, and is located within Uptown Westerville’s DORA, meaning drinks can be openly carried outside within certain hours.
