Longstanding Middle Eastern bakery and sweet shop opening first brick and mortar storefront

Al Aqsa Sweets has been serving the Columbus area for nearly 15 years, and now the Middle Eastern bakery and sweet shop is moving into its first brick and mortar home.

The new storefront will be located at 1940 Schrock Rd., on the city’s North Side.

“This has been a long time coming, almost 13 years in the making,” a statement posted to the bakery’s Facebook page reads.

There is currently no opening date set for the new location, but according to an Al Aqsa employee, the new location will likely open soon. Updates on the storefront will be posted to the bakery’s Facebook page.

Al Aqsa currently operates as a home bakery and delivery service, and is based in Reynoldsburg. Its authentic Middle Easteen treats are also available in a number of stores in Hilliard and Columbus.
