Just like that, The Hummus & Pita Co. is ready to unfurl its first-ever Ohio location.

The New-York based chain known for its Mediterranean bowls, falafel, pita and more announced its plans to bring multiple eateries to Central Ohio earlier this year, and yesterday the restaurant let us know when its first location is slated to open.

Located at 1777 Hilliard Rome Rd., Hummus & Pita Co. will hold its grand opening on May 7.

“We are eagerly anticipating this next step in our nationwide expansion with our newest Columbus location,” said co-founder Dave Pesso in a press release. “[Franchisee Pranay Patel] has been a wonderful addition to our franchise family and we’re thrilled to be working with him to bring The Hummus & Pita Co. to the state, especially in such a coveted area.”

The event will feature festivities like a raffle, live DJ, and even a falafel-eating contest. What’s more, the first 50 customers on May 7 will receive a free falafel pita.
