New Columbus-style pizzeria replaces Mo’s Place on Parsons

While the Mo’s Place located at 3503 Parsons Ave. is no more, another Columbus-style pizzeria has recently opened in the space.

Say hello to Hoppy’s Pizza.

Owned by longtime food truck operator Chuck (who preferred his last name not be published), the new concept officially opened for business on Sept. 13.

“It was my dream,” he said of his decision to open the new pizzeria. “I am 59 years old, I chose to open this pizza shop to bring happiness to the south side and to show what true old style pizza is: a cracker crust with cupped pepperonis.”

Before opening Hoppy’s, he operated three different local food trucks, in addition to selling barbecue at Central Ohio festivals, for the last 38 years. And while nearly four decades is a long time, if you love the food you serve, it doesn’t get old, the new pizzeria owner noted.

“I have been doing this for over 38 years and love every single day of it,” he said.

Hoppy’s Pizza, which is carryout only, is open 2-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 2-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Hoppy’s Pizza is closed on Sunday.
